ABOUT US
MEP was officially born in 1982, based in Rome, with experience gained in the military field of structured cabling systems, design and production of electronic prototypes (Larimart, Laspre, Litton Veam, etc). Later, MEP joins the Broadcast area, when securing an important contract with Ampex multinational group regarding the upgrade of the 1” videotape recorders, installed at the RAI (Italian National Television) editing rooms and aimed to the implementation of the 3rd Italian National TV channel.
Under these premises, MEP set its core business on professional TV systems. During those years, new TV production and post-production companies, thanks to conspicuous investments by the major network groups such as Mediaset, Telemontecarlo and RAI itself, are born from this novel and consistent work spill-over. Hence, MEP joins in the implementation of many editing - even mobile (OB-VAN) - and post-production (Fly-case) systems, thus giving its important contribution to the new flourishing Italian broadcasting scenario. Currently, MEP holds a small but important place in the field of design, implementation, prototyping and cabling of broadcast hi-tech audiovisuals.
